In music 5GT have been using bandlab a free music app that allows the students to create their own songs using different instrument sounds.

As part of their college work KS5 Oracle cooking and life skills group have been looking at Biteback. We have been looking at and discussing thw different slides.

5GT have been working on their mental maths. They have been playing darts and working out the score without  a calculator. 

In music 5GT have been making their own songs on the laptops using band lab.

Today Alice from health watch came into 6th form to talk to the students about transport, social groups and healthcare and how people with disabilities use the services and what is good or bad about the service.

In English 5GT are learning about speaking and listening , giving instructions and following instructions. The students took it in turn to give instructions to the whole class they  used paper cups which had to be stacked in different combinations for the tasks to be completed.

6th form creative group have visited the Grundy Art Gallery in Blackpool this afternoon. The visit was to gain experience of visiting art galleries and to look at the different types of art that are displayed in them.

Clare from the job centre has visited 6th form to talk to the students about skills for jobs. Today we were learning about teamwork one of the tasks was to work together to build a tower out of marshmallows ,straws and cocktail stick.

KS5 have been cycling for sports this afternoon. They showes great resilience as it was cold and raining. Some students had a go at riding different styles of bikes. Well done everyone.

Ks5 life skills group have been preparing for the coffee afternoon on friday. They have been packing sweets into bags and decorating the bags with christmas stickers ,good job everyone.

KS5 life skills college group have been doing jobs today. First they untangled the aprons for cooking then they put the tables back in the right place in the classroom. Emma put soms files away and then their was some social time. The students played games and used their social skills to decide…

Sophie and daniel have shown great resilience they have completed a 550 piece jigsaw over the last couple of weeks.
