Hand treatments
This afternoon, KS5 students have learnt how to give hand treatments to clients. They prepped their work area neatly, moisturise the hands and cuticles and place the hands into thermal gloves. Students had a great time both giving and enjoying the treatment!

Today, our KS5 students have had a brilliant day at Blackpool and the Fylde College! They learnt how to set up their make up station - making it look presentable and welcoming. They applied ‘scar wax’ and melted it onto the skin to blend it, making it look realistic. Using a colour wheel, they鈥�

Yesterday, KS5 pupils attended their first college session at Blackpool and the Fylde College. They met their tutor and had their introduction to the hair and beauty course. They were able to express what they would like to learn during this placement, and then they watched their tutor create a鈥�
Lacrosse
Students undertaking Public Services at Blackpool and The Fylde College experienced a new sport this week, Lacrosse. They learnt how to pass and shoot and how to correctly hold the equipment.
Sports at B&FC
Due to the weather we had to call our football skills training off, so we changed plans & went into the gym. We wrote our own gym training programme using a variety of cardiovascular & resistance machines. This included a 5-10 minute warm up & a cool down session.
Public Services
We have been out on the B&FC campus refining our walkie talkie skills.
Sports
During sports we warmed up with agility exercises. These movements will help us use our full bodies when playing football.
Circuit training
We worked on our core strength during Public Services at B&FC. Our tutor had set a circuit for use to complete with 40 seconds of work & 20 seconds of rest.
What makes a good leader?
Oracle students were asked the question ‘what makes a good leader?’ at B&FC during their Public Services session.
Here was their joint reply ‘communication, organisation the correct equipment set up, risk assessments followed, knowledgeable within the subject鈥�
B&F College
Today we did a fitness circuit in at college. We were taught the importance of a warm up & cool down before & after the main session.
Public Services
In Public Services we were split into 3 groups & challenged with different sporting activities. On this picture we were using our arm strength to flip over the weighted item to get to the finish line first.
Basketball
We have been learning how to dribble & shoot in our Public Services session at B&FC.
